Learning in Health and well being ensures that children and young people develop the knowledge and understanding, skills and capabilities which they need for mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing. Children will:
Experience personal achievement and build resilience and confidence
Understand and develop physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing and social skills
Understand how what they eat, how active they are and how decisions they make affect physical and mental wellbeing
Participate in a wide range of activities which promote a healthy lifestyle
Understand that adults in the school community have a responsibility to look after them, listen to concerns and involve others where necessary
All activities under this heading are designed to encourage creative and critical thinking skills. They really blow the cobwebs away and get the grey matter working!
STEM subjects really push the limits of the modern world and are the crux of all the exciting developments around us. Skills and knowledge in the STEM subjects are what a lot of employers are looking for to continue to make the future exciting and innovative.
